It is time to fight with a strategy!
The strategy that I have used to transition into industry, is the same strategy that I want to use with you! I have packaged this process into a 10-week grouching program where we will assess what you have done, what you are trying to achieve, showing the right stakeholders, and repeating the process. This process has helped me and others get “off the R.O.P.E.S” of the career ring! Check it out below!
Stage 1: Relationships: Appraisal of Personal and Professional Connections
We have probably all heard that when it comes to getting the job you want, “it is not what you know, but who you know.” Truth is, there is some truth to that saying, but it is more of how do you utilize and leverage the expertise of who you know. We all know somebody who knows somebody, we just need to understand the role that people serve within our life to cultivate the relationship, build a connection, and make the “ask!”
Stage 2: Optics: Assessment of Environmental Perceptions
How you present yourself to the world is just as important as the experiences and the skills that you possess. Truth be told, you probably have everything you need, you just need to position yourself differently online and in-person to get noticed by your intended audience.
Stage 3: Purpose: Alignment of Personal and Professional Ambitions
You don’t need to change who you are at all (unless you want to), you just need to reimagine what it means to be a professional! This entails gaining clarity on what your values, interests, and strengths are. Once you gain clarity, you will be able to envision a career that is alignment of what you stand for. That is the key to fulfillment and freedom!

Who is this program for?
If you are a social scientist, a PhD candidate or current PhD holder, aspiring to transition into industry from academic, then this program is for you!
What is the time commitment per week?
Developing a career is definitely not a quick process- it is an individualized process. In addition to the Zoom call bi-weekly, you should spend at least 3 hours per week working on the assignments. This will ensure the best chance of success and develop the most comprehensive strategy.
What if I already have a strategy?
Yayyy! This program is still a good fit for you because it will give you an opportunity to gain the clarity and resources you need to approach your job search with intention!

Hey! I’m Crystal. I am an engineer and researcher and I love helping current and aspiring PhD holders reimagine their careers outside of academia.
I am also a PhD candidate running my coaching business. I know what it’s like to feel like I have to feel like I have something to contribute outside of academia, and not having a strategy on how to get there. It took a toll on my mental and physical health- I don't suggest it!
As a researcher and employee, I learned about how to maneuver through the PhD process, articulate my skills that I gained as an researcher, and develop a strategy that cultivated resilience and clarity of what I wanted to achieve. I went from feeling unfulfilled, undervalued, and unworthy of achieving the career I wanted to confidently and successfully pursuing the career and life I deserved!
